ENG:
Teatro Libre was founded in 1973, but it started several years before, when a group of university students interested in theatre, literature and arts, and sharing a leftist political position, held a meeting with the idea of creating a theatre group in which they could train actors and directors to bring to the stage theatre plays from different genres.
During the eighties, Teatro Libre opened its first theatre in downtown Bogotá, made itself well known as a permanent theatre group and was able to tour abroad. Today,
Teatro Libre Foundation owns also a second, bigger theatre, located at Chapinero area at the heart of the Colombian capital city.
